Childhood trauma, which can also be seen as adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), is caused by a significant event or events during childhood that directly impacts the psychological, behavioural, and physicality of a person. These experiences include a range of physical abuse, abandonment, neglect, & sexual abuse to car accidents, natural disasters, & the like. All of these aspects don’t need to necessarily be present at once to create trauma but one event is enough to establish a long-lasting effect that creates challenges throughout life as one ages. This existed in my story as a child growing & it may have done in yours.
These series of blog posts are a profound focus on the theme of childhood trauma, split up into chapters. From examples, solutions, experiences, different perspectives, & more you’ll get a chance to get a front seat view of what it’s like to live with trauma & how to develop a more compassionate relationship with those in your life that have experienced it themselves.
If you’re a person who’s experienced childhood trauma & enjoy this series I applaud you for making it this far & taking the chance to read what it has to offer. In finding the courage to keep going we often need an extra hand & the hope is that this series can supply that in any way.
